OnePlus has the intention to stretch the battery boundaries with the Turbo series, which will offer the largest battery that has ever been used in OnePlus smartphones.
Li Jie, the President of OnePlus China, has confirmed the new smartphone lineup’s name — Turbo just a few days ago. The series which has been the subject of rumors in the past is said to carry the same flagship-level performance traits of OnePlus devices but in addition give the best battery life in the class.
Now, Li Jie has introduced a major point of the Turbo lineup — its battery capacity. He said that the OnePlus Turbo will contain the largest battery that has ever been used in a OnePlus phone, the 8,300mAh battery of the Ace 6T being the current brand record is also surpassed.
Moreover, a famous tipster on Weibo is suggesting that the Turbo smartphone will have a gigantic 9,000mAh battery. The first model of the Turbo series will probably be released in China in January. The leak adds that the device will be running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is also the same as the one used in the Ace 6T and the globally marketed OnePlus 15R.
Another rumor suggests that there will be a pair of models under the Turbo lineup initially. The two smartphones are said to be coming with 9,000mAh batteries, having high-refresh-rate 165Hz displays and possessing Snapdragon 8-series, flagship-grade, processors.
The marriage of extreme battery capacity with top-of-the-range performance hardware will be the OnePlus Turbo series, which is already becoming the brand’s most power-centric smartphone launch so far.
