Indian U19 players react after defeat in Asia Cup final against Pakistan.

Indian Under-19 cricket team led by Ayush Matre suffered a huge blow as they lost to their arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup final via a massive margin of 191 runs. The match saw the Pakistani batsman making a gigantic total of 347/8 in their allocated 50 overs, while the

Indians managed to get only 156 runs.

The BCCI, which represents the cricket board in India, has considered the loss as a major issue. The board members held a discussion regarding the team’s performance in the online Apex Council meeting on Monday and came to a conclusion that a complete review should be conducted before the

upcoming Under-19 World Cup in January. It is intended to hold discussions with head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and team captain Ayush Matre to talk about the shortcomings of the team and this will be done with a view to ensuring a stronger build-up for the global event.

Players’ Conduct Under Scrutiny
Indian players Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Matre also displayed controversial behavior during the final. Both players were seen misbehaving after getting out by Pakistani fast bowler Ali Raza and videos of the incident circulated on social media. The BCCI is likely to demand explanations from both players and the coaching staff regarding the incident. Meanwhile, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that a formal complaint about the players’ conduct might be lodged with the ICC.
