Film buyers who distributed Akhanda 2 across Andhra Pradesh recently met director Boyapati Srinu to discuss the financial difficulties they are facing. During the meeting, the buyers detailed the losses incurred in different regions and urged the filmmaker to step in and support them.
The distributors explained that although the producers had assured them the GST component would be cleared in January, buyers across Andhra Pradesh are still suffering nearly 50 percent losses on their investments.
Sources say Boyapati listened carefully to their concerns and assured them that he would do whatever possible to address the issue. He has reportedly asked his close associates to initiate talks with Mango Ram, who played a key role in facilitating the film’s release.
According to industry buzz, Boyapati’s close aides, along with a few buyers, are expected to meet Mango Ram on Monday. Insiders believe Mango Ram has a clear understanding of the film’s financials, including the rights sold, revenues generated, and the actual losses incurred. This clarity is said to be the reason Boyapati directed the buyers to approach him for a possible resolution.
