The fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna got a surprise when Netflix announced that Akhanda 2: Thaandavam was withdrawn from its coming streaming list. The Boyapati Srinu directed movie was released in theatres on December 12, and although it was a big box-office flop, it was still a great one.
Netflix had earlier set the release date of streaming for Akhanda 2: Thaandavam on the 9th of January and it was the Sankranti film spoken of by the OTT platform. The platform even presented the movie poster in its “Upcoming Movies” section which made Balakrishna’s fans even more excited as they hoped to watch the film during the festive season. Nevertheless, Netflix is taking an unexpected route now.
The movie poster and the link for streaming have been removed silently from the Netflix application. As of now, the streaming date for Akhanda 2 has not yet been communicated by the OTT giant through any official statement, be it on social media or other channels. There is a possibility that Netflix might soon declare a fresh date for the release.
Box-office reports say that Akhanda 2 has knocked the producers down hard. The movie has been labeled one of the biggest debacles of 2025, according to the reports. Produced by 14 Reels Plus, the movie was made on an estimated budget of ₹200 crore. However, popular trade website Sacnilk reports that the film has collected only around ₹93 crore net, resulting in losses of nearly ₹100 crore for the makers.
