Chandrababu Naidu Sets January 15 Deadline for Central Fund Utilization

Chandrababu Naidu reviews central fund utilization in Amaravati, urging officials to spend all unutilized allocations before January 15.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, has given stringent orders to the government departments to totally use the unspent money from the Central Government by the end of January 2026, and he has also pointed out the government accountability and efficiency in spending as the main reasons for this.

The CM during a review meeting with the top officials in Amaravati showed extreme dissatisfaction because Rs 6,252 crore lying unspent under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). He not only ordered the government but also the people to be enforced for the full utilization of these funds the officials should especially active in the case of PMAY because that is the slowest in the city which has seen only 38% of the money spent so far.

Chandrababu asked Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy to keep an eye on the fund utilization very closely and find out how the housing projects which were stalled previously because of vigilance checks can be made to progress faster. He conveyed that through the complete utilization of the presently allotted funds, additional central funds of Rs 5,000–6,000 crore which could ultimately lead to the annual target of periphery schemes’ expenditure being set at Rs 30,000 crore.

Ministers updated on other schemes too. Minister Nara Lokesh disclosed that the sum of rupees 1,259 crore has been spent out of the total corpus of Rs 1,363 crore under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme and consequently, he sought an extra amount of Rs 1,200 crore from the Union Government.

The CM also commanded immediate measures to be taken on the 63,000 inactive government accounts which together hold Rs 155 crore, so that either the money can be withdrawn or alternatively, it can be allowed to earn interest, and he also insisted on the need for faster audits of all the departments.

Chandrababu’s strong position shows that he is determined to push for the efficient use of central funds and better financial management which is his government strategy before the discussions on the upcoming central budget.
