Telugu actor Chiranjeevi has been a target of criticism recently after a remark he made in his speech at the Telangana Rising Global Summit displeased the netizens. The actor who was the guest of honor at the event alongside Suman Bery, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog and Anand Mahindra, an industrialist, reminisced about his invitation to the summit while being on a movie set.
When narrating the event, Chiranjeevi talked about “dancing with a girl” at Annapurna Studios and how Telangana CM Revanth Reddy sent Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu to invite him personally when he was at it. His choice of words in this part of the narration did rub some people the wrong way and they labeled his remark as an unnecessary one.
Chiranjeevi was also heard saying in his address that he felt like a fish out of water among the guests from finance, automobiles, politics, etc., and he also wondered why a film star was on the panel.
However, parts of his light-hearted statements did not land well with some viewers. Social media reactions labelled the “dancing with a girl” comment as awkward and avoidable. Several users suggested he could have simply said he was filming. Others criticised the veteran actor for being “out of touch” and “losing his charm.”
Some users even questioned why celebrities who “lack control over their words” continue to be invited to major forums.
On the work front, Chiranjeevi is gearing up for his next film, Vishwambhara, slated for release in summer 2026. He is also working on Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and an upcoming project with director Srikanth Odela.
