Film with its phenomenal story, awesome production quality by Ufotable and high voltage fight scenes, has been marked as one of the main anime releases of 2025. Theatrical run for the fans who did not see it was over on September 25 and they are now impatiently waiting for the OTT release – but the wait may be longer than anticipated.
OTT Release Timeline
The makers have confirmed that Akaza’s Return will arrive on OTT. Following the release pattern of previous Demon Slayer films, the digital premiere is expected between late January and early February 2026. This means the movie will not be available to stream in 2025, and fans will need to wait until next year for the online release.
OTT Platform
Crunchyroll will stream Infinity Castle Part 1, continuing its exclusive hold on Demon Slayer movie releases. While waiting, fans can watch all four seasons — including the Hashira Training Arc — on JioHotstar, which directly connects to events unfolding in the Infinity Castle storyline.
Plot: What Akaza’s Return Delivers
The Return of Akaza not only means the first chapter of the splendid Infinity Castle Arc but also it is going to put Tanjiro, the Hashiras, and the Demon Slayer Corps right into the stronghold of Muzan Kibutsuji. Akaza gets the lion’s share in the first part of the movie, unearthing his tragic past, and going through the emotional turmoil at the same time as the fights, which are really intense and the stakes are pretty high. Characteristically, with powerful moments, dramatic twists, and stunning visuals, Part 1 unambiguously declares the end of the Demon Slayer saga.
