The film portrays the life of Sivakeshavulu (Raj Kiran), he is the owner of a small eatery named Idli Kottu in the town of Shankarapuram. His son, Murali (Dhanush), encouraged by his father’s dream, studies hotel management and has a successful career abroad. Tragedy hits when he is planning his wedding with Meera (Shalini Pandey) — the daughter of his boss (Sathyaraj) — father dies. Murali’s reuniting with the Indian family and his undertaking of realizing his father’s unfulfilled dreams are the emotional axes of the film.
