KCR Heads to Hyderabad for SIT Probe Amid Show of Strength by BRS Cadre

Former Telangana CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao greets supporters while travelling from Erravelli to Hyderabad for the SIT probe.

On Sunday morning BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao who served as Chief Minister before left his Erravelli home to testify before the Special Investigation Team about the suspected phone-tapping incident. His Nandi Nagar residence in Hyderabad will serve as the site for his examination which will take place later today.

Party sources report that KCR will arrive in Hyderabad at 1 pm while the SIT examination is scheduled to start at 3 pm.

The Erravelli to Hyderabad route became a major display of support when BRS leaders and activists and supporters created a human chain that extended along the entire roadway. Party workers formed groups along the highway while chanting “Jai Telangana” and “Jai KCR” and they waved flags and threw flowers at the convoy as it drove by.

The senior BRS leader Jahangir Mohammed used an Imam-e-Zamin protection amulet to tie his ceremonial blessing to KCR before he left. The supporters recorded videos and took photographs while they tried to take selfies as the convoy stopped at important locations. Rao walked through the area to acknowledge the crowds while he greeted party workers.

The gathering caused heavy vehicle traffic which created traffic congestion at multiple locations along the route. Police established extensive bandobust security measures to manage public safety at Erravelli and Nandi Nagar while they protected the highway from potential disturbances.

BRS leaders described the turnout as a spontaneous expression of public support for their leader. They asserted that the Congress-led state government uses investigative agencies for their political objectives.

BRS members throughout Telangana have participated in protests against the SIT investigation of the alleged phone tapping case which led to party demonstrations against KCR’s summons.
