Today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) office in Hyderabad has issued a heavy rainfall warning for the city and has hence told the public to be ready for the evening’s downpours of varying degrees of intensity ranging from moderate to heavy. The newest forecast predicts that rain will- initially- affect few areas first, which are Qutbullapur, Kukatpally, Gajularamaram, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Kapra, and Serilingampally, then gradually all over the city.
To prevent any mishaps, the IMD is recommending that the public remain vigilant and choose their travel routes wisely, as waterlogging and heavy traffic may occur in Hyderabad. People using the roads should avoid the low-lying areas and may need to use their vehicles in connecting with the live weather reports.
The officials have informed the public not to go out of their houses during the heavy rain and to stock up on emergency supplies. The rain expected to last until the evening may result in public transport and main roads experiencing delays and diversions.
