Hyderabad folks celebrated the inauguration of a new link bridge in Ashok Nagar, which should help in the lessening of traffic hardships in the area. On Friday, the Chikkadapalli-Domalaguda Link Bridge that was built over the Hussain Sagar Surplus Nala was unveiled by the Minister for Hyderabad District in-charge, Ponnam Prabhakar, officially.

Inauguration was marked by the presence of the Mayor of GHMC, Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor, Srilatha Shobhan, MP, Anil Kumar Yad, MLA, Mutha Gopal, and other important people. Minister Prabhakar while addressing the audience mentioned CM Revanth Reddy’s continuous support for the infrastructure development of Hyderabad in general including roads, drainage systems, street lighting, parks, etc.

The bridge which is built at a cost of Rs. 6 crores has a length of 48 meters and a width of 12 meters and it goes on to have two lanes with a 7.5-meter-wide carriageway and footpaths on both sides for pedestrians. The link bridge makes a direct connection between the City Central Library in Ashok Nagar and AV College in Gaganmahal, which helps in saving travel time and improving the overall traffic flow in the region.

As per the statement of GHMC officials, this bridge would be free of signals and commuters from Chikkadapalli would be able to reach important places like Liberty Junction and the GHMC headquarters in just about 10 minutes. The project is anticipated to ease the congestion on the nearby roads and act as a major route for daily commuters, students, and local residents.

The new link bridge is a major milestone in the city’s urban development and it paves the way for an easy and quick movement of people and goods throughout the city.
