According to Cricbuzz reports, the tentative agreement on the dates is between BCCI and representatives of the franchises, subject to final approval by the IPL Governing Council.

After successful auctions held in Dubai (2023) and Jeddah (2024), this upcoming IPL mini-auction will prove to be a much-awaited one back home. The venue is yet to be decided, but BCCI officials are keen to have the auction in India to perhaps revive their fan engagement and traditional buzz about the event.

📅 Player Retention Deadline: November 15

All 10 IPL franchises have been informed that November 15, 2025, will be the last date to retain the players. Before the mini-auction, teams will have to submit the final list of players retained and released.

While most franchises might be expected to hold their core squads, sides such as Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are planning major reshuffles after shocking performances in IPL 2025.
