The Andhra Pradesh government has mandated that all services to citizens must be provided through the Manamitra WhatsApp Governance platform only, as per the directive issued to all the departments.
During a review meeting held by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Secretary of IT and RTG Department, Bhaskar Katamneni, stressed the significance of data-driven governance and hassle-free service delivery. Most of the services have been moved online already but certain departments have still not gotten rid of manual processes and continuing with them. All officials have been instructed to get the last of the remaining services immediately on to the Manamitra platform so that citizens do not face disruption in their access.
Collectors of the districts will also have to carry out the task of informing people of the WhatsApp Governance at the grassroots level so that the public’s acceptance of the system increases.
Furthermore, Katamneni revealed that there are 98 AI-based use cases being developed that are reportedly to be operational by the end of April. The focus of these use cases is to improve the workflow in the departments and, at the same time, provide the option of customizing applications according to the specific needs of the departments.
In addition, the RTGS Aware division was highlighted for providing real-time weather updates and other applications. Currently, around 50 Aware use cases are in development, which departments can adapt to serve their purposes. Katamneni urged all departments to fully utilize these platforms to maximize citizen benefits.
