Minecraft’s upcoming spring update continues to lean into charm and detail, and the newly released Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 6 is proof of that. The latest snapshot introduces revamped “feral” baby mobs, giving several young animals more expressive designs, improved animations and subtle behaviour tweaks that make the game world feel more alive.
Rather than looking like miniature versions of adult mobs, these baby creatures now feature distinct visual traits, including darker pupils and more natural proportions. Mojang’s focus this time is on adding personality and realism—without changing core gameplay.
Feral Baby Mobs Added in Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 6
Snapshot 6 brings visual and animation upgrades to baby versions of seven wild animals. The updated mobs include:
- Bee
- Fox
- Goat
- Camel
- Armadillo
- Polar Bear
- Llama
Each of these baby mobs now has improved facial features and smoother animations, helping them stand out as young animals rather than scaled-down adults.
Behaviour and Animation Improvements
Beyond visual changes, the snapshot also introduces small but noticeable gameplay refinements. Baby polar bears no longer attack baby foxes, making interactions in snowy biomes feel more natural and less chaotic.
Baby axolotls have received their own “play dead” animation, adding realism to their behaviour, while baby chickens now have corrected wing animations, reducing the awkward or glitchy movement seen in earlier versions.
Camels have also been adjusted. Saddles no longer appear on baby camels, and Mojang has removed baby camel husks entirely, streamlining mob consistency across the game.
What’s Next?
These updates round out the changes introduced in Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 6, continuing Mojang’s push to make the world feel more detailed and immersive ahead of the spring update. Players can access the snapshot through the Minecraft Launcher to test the changes firsthand.
Have you tried the latest snapshot yet? The updated baby mobs may be small, but they add a noticeable layer of polish to Minecraft’s evolving world.
