The BSE and NSE told the public that Indian stock markets would be closed on December 25, 2025, a Thursday, for Christmas which is a public holiday. No transfer of shares, futures, or currencies is allowed on that day at the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange. However, the very next day, which is Friday, December 26, 2025, the trading will resume as normal without any interruptions. This is the only stock market holiday for December and also the last one of the year.

Having published its holiday trading calendar for the year 2026, the National Stock Exchange has signaled the market participants about the days when there will be no trading.
