Oppo has explicitly announced the very soon to be launched Reno 15 series in India on January 8 at 12 noon IST. Oppo hasn’t changed its stance on camera technology and that’s why the new Oppo Reno 15 Pro 5G, Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G, and Oppo Reno 15 5G have been brought in as the first three smartphones of the lineup.
Initially, it was believed that the Oppo Pad 5 would be launched along with the Reno 15 series, but the firm has not disclosed a date for the tablet’s release in India, implying that the tablet might come after the Reno series.
Oppo Reno 15 Series: Camera-Focused Upgrades
Oppo has officially unveiled a majority of features to be included in the upcoming smartphones. The photography department of the Reno 15 Pro 5G and Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G will consist of an impeccable 200MP “ultra-clear” primary camera. These devices are also going to have a 50MP 3.5x telephoto portrait lens which will be very close to the standard 85mm focal length for taking portraits and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 100-degree field of view.
The Pro variants will have the capability to record videos in 4K HDR at 60fps with all the rear cameras and the front one, thus highlighting the professional aspect of the video recording made by Oppo.
The standard Oppo Reno 15 5G will be equipped with a camera that is a bit less powerful but still good enough, having a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP 3.5x telephoto portrait lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera as the main part of the setup. The front will have a 50MP camera for selfies.
Imaging, AI Features and Display Enhancements
Oppo is introducing its in-house PureTone technology with the Reno 15 series, aimed at delivering clearer and more vivid images while accounting for ambient lighting instead of aggressively isolating subjects. The firm has also mentioned that the Indian skin tones have been accurately preserved with a lot of care in the process.
The Reno 15 series will come pre-installed with the new AI Editor 3.0 and will be accompanied by the other software, such as AI Portrait Glow for enhanced lighting and AI Motion Photo Slow-mo, which makes still pictures of moving subjects.
Expected Pricing in India
The smartphone manufacturer Oppo has still to announce the precise price of the Reno 15 series in India but it is speculated that the second version, i.e., Reno 15 Pro, will be the most expensive one. The Oppo Reno 14 Pro with the combination of 12GB RAM and 256GB storage was up for sale at ₹49,999 while the 12GB + 512GB version was priced at ₹54,999.
The least expensive Reno 14 model price was set at ₹37,999, and the highest one was at ₹42,999, but if one looks at the current market listings, he/she can easily get the conclusion that even the most basic variant has already crossed the ₹40,000 barrier.
On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini is said to be Oppo’s first small flagship in India and the reports suggest a price of around ₹60,000 at the time of the launch.
With advanced camera hardware, AI-powered features, and a compact premium option, the Oppo Reno 15 series is shaping up to be one of the brand’s most significant launches in 2026.
