President Murmu, PM Modi Extend Warm Christmas Greetings to the Nation

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, sent their warm greetings and best wishes to the entire nation celebrating Christmas while the latter pointed out the festival’s message that is always Love, Compassion, Peace, and Harmony.

President Murmu went live on the social media platform X where she posted a message for the nation but specifically for the Christian community. “Merry Christmas. On such an auspicious day as Christmas, I wish you all the heartiest greetings and the best of luck, particularly my brothers and sisters from the Christian community,” she said.

President emphasized the importance of the festival from a spiritual point of view and stated that Christmas is celebrated with great joy and is also a reminder of the tremendous sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ for mankind.She mentioned that the day is one that the community is motivated to showcase the attributes of peace, harmony, equality, and service.

Moreover, the President urged the people to become more like Christ and to participate in their unfolding of a society with loving and patient character traits that would be respectful and caring.

Via Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his Christmas greetings to everyone and expressed his longing for a reign of happiness, peace, unity, and brotherhood over the entire planet.

The Prime Minister said, “Wishing everyone a joyous Christmas filled with peace, compassion, and hope. May the teachings of Jesus Christ strengthen harmony in our society,” while giving his special regards to the Christian community.

The Christmas holiday, which is celebrated annually on December 25, commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ and it is the season of joy and the whole world coming together.The event brings families closer, nurtures acts of charity and kindness, and gives a true spirit, breaking all man-made barriers in terms of religion and culture by generously giving.

Even though Christmas is a religious festival for the Christians, the commonly accepted message of love, forgiveness, and peace has made it into a world celebration, enjoyed worldwide by people from various backgrounds. Religious doctrines have been made more palatable by blending in with various culture, tradition. To the extent that every person is engaged in rearing Christmas trees, getting together for gifts exchanges, singing Christmas carols very loudly, and making Christmas cards to announce the spirit of community celebration.

Nowadays, Christmas is not only a religious festival of the utmost sanctity but also a global cultural festival for the distribution of peace, friendliness, and good relations among peoples and communities through the world.
