Rajasthan Vegetable Vendor Wins ₹11 Crore in Punjab Diwali Bumper Lottery 2025

Amit Sehra, a humble vegetable vendor from Kotputli, Rajasthan, has become a crorepati overnight after winning the first prize of ₹11 crore in the Punjab State Diwali Bumper Lottery 2025. His winning ticket — A438586 — was purchased for just ₹500 during a recent trip to Bathinda. The lucky draw took place on October 31, 2025, in Ludhiana.

A Life-Changing Diwali

For 32-year-old Amit, life revolved around selling vegetables from his cart every day to support his wife Rita and their two children. His routine life took a magical turn when he discovered that his ticket had won the top prize. Initially, he dismissed the news as a joke until lottery officials confirmed the result.

Interestingly, reaching Amit wasn’t easy — his broken phone made it hard for authorities to contact him. He finally learned of his win from a neighbour and travelled to Bathinda with his family to claim his prize.

Claiming the ₹11 Crore Jackpot

Officials from the Punjab Lottery Department confirmed that Amit will receive the prize after standard tax deductions. Winners are given a 30-day window to claim their rewards. Expressing his joy, Amit said,

“This is truly a Diwali blessing from God. I will use this money to pay off debts, build a home, and secure my children’s future.”
