The Sunny Deol movie Border 2 achieved its first box office success when it reached ₹200 crore in global earnings within four days of its theatrical opening, making it one of the most successful Hindi movies of early 2026.
The film which serves as a sequel to the 1997 classic Border was produced by Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar through T-Series Films and Jaypee Films. The film Border 2 which Anurag Singh directs shows war as J.P. Dutta first presented it in his earlier work.
Star-Studded War Drama
The India–Pakistan war of 1971 serves as the historical setting for Border 2 which features Sunny Deol Varun Dhawan Diljit Dosanjh Ahaan Shetty Sonam Bajwa Suniel Shetty Akshaye Khanna Sudesh Berry Anya Singh and Mona Singh as its main actors.
The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Anshul Chobey and editor Manish More and music composer John Stewart Eduri for the background score. The film features songs which Anu Malik and Mithoon and Vishal Mishra composed.
The film which released on January 23 Republic Day weekend showed at 5000 Indian screens and 7000 international screens.
Budget and Box Office Performance
The estimated production budget for Border 2 reaches ₹300 crore which covers all costs for making the film and all payments to actors and crew members and all costs for marketing. The film needed to earn ₹250 crore in revenue to reach its break-even point.
The movie started successfully at the domestic box office with impressive earnings.

This was when the film captured a total of ₹121 crores in India in only three days, symbolising a fresh pinnacle in Sunny Deol’s career.
Strong Overseas Response
Border 2 has achieved successful results worldwide through its opening performances in North America and the Middle East and the UK and Australia. The film earned approximately ₹30 crore from international markets in three days, pushing its global total past ₹150 crore.
Trade analysts note that Border 2 has become only the second Hindi film in recent times to reach this level so quickly.
Republic Day Boost Takes Film Past ₹200 Crore
The Republic Day holiday helped increase movie collections during the fourth day of screening. Trade estimates suggest the film earned ₹50–55 crore on Monday, including around ₹5 crore overseas. Boundary 2 achieved worldwide box office earnings of ₹200 crore after four days because its revenue increased.
The industry sources estimate that Day 4 collections will reach ₹60 crore if the current collection rate stays the same which will lead to the film’s major success.
Border 2 maintains its successful box office performance because positive word-of-mouth and patriotic themes combine with holiday benefits.
