The IPL 2026 mini auction is not far away and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has already laid out an extensive strategy to strengthen their team. The Hyderabad franchise will go for the auction with a total of ₹25.5 crore and around 10 vacant spots and plans to fill up many holes in various sections of the team.
SRH are on the lookout for an Indian spinner, a backup opener, top and middle-order batsmen, a No.7 finisher, Indian pacer for the middle overs, powerplay Indian seamers, and a backup overseas fast bowler for the powerplay.
In the first set, experienced stars David Miller and Cameron Green are high on SRH’s wishlist, with the team keen to add a proven finisher. Second set, Liam Livingstone plays a role of a powerful replacement for Miller or as an extra spin-bowling all-rounder. The middle order consists of right-handers, namely Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ankit Verma, and this trio may find it more difficult to face a left-hander like Miller. Deepak Hooda is also among the players to be picked in this category.
For fast-bowling options in the fourth set, SRH may target Akash Deep, Gerald Coetzee and Jacob Duffy. The franchise is also keeping an eye on young Indian talents such as Yash Dhull and Arya Desai in the sixth set.
In the Indian all-rounders category, names like Mohammad Nabi and Tanush Kotian are under consideration. Other domestic prospects on SRH’s radar include Tushar Raheja, Karthik Sharma, Sushant Mishra, Ashok Sharma, Raj Limbani and Vignesh Puthur.
Mustafizur Rahman and Lungi Ngidi, the overseas pacers, are on the later sets while Indian finishers Ankit Kumar and Salman Nizar may also attract bids.
Having a clear roadmap and several targets identified, SRH seem to be in a strong position to take major action at the IPL 2026 mini auction.
