Municipal Election Process Begins in Telangana; Voter List Schedule Released

Telangana State Election Commission announces voter list schedule ahead of upcoming municipal elections.

The local bodies’ electoral process in Telangana has started. On Monday, December 29, 2025, the Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC) disclosed the detailed schedule for preparing and publishing the electoral rolls.

This timeline will govern the elections in 117 towns and six city corporations in the whole state. Election Commission officers have been directed to make and update the voter lists for each ward with images of the voters, utilizing the Assembly constituency voter information as of October 1, 2025 as the basis.

Voter List Schedule

  • Reorganisation of ECI polling station data municipality-wise – December 30, 2025
  • ward-wise division of polling station data – 31st December 2025
  • ward-wise preparation of voter list in the respect of a municipal ward – 31st December 2025
  • Publication of draft voter list and acceptance of objections – January 1, 2026
  • Meetings with political party representatives at district level – January 5 to January 6, 2026
  • Release of final voter list – January 10, 2026

Objections and corrections will be accepted for the draft voter list for January 1, 2026, and the submission of those will be made through the corresponding notice boards. The final voter list will be published on January 10, 2026, after dealing with all claims and objections.

The final voter list, the Commission informed, would be the basis for the next municipal elections in Telangana, holden in due time.
