Construction of Warangal Airport to Begin Soon, Says Union Minister Rammohan Naidu

Union Minister Rammohan Naidu and MP Etela Rajender light a bonfire during Sankranti celebrations at Delhi University, announcing Warangal airport plans.

The Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu indicated that Warangal airport construction would start shortly, after the first Bhogapuram airport test flight in Andhra Pradesh went smooth. Apart from this, the project is thought to be a way of increasing regional connectivity, improving infrastructure, and creating job opportunities for the youth of Telangana and the surrounding areas.

Minister Naidu disclosed the news at the Sankranti festivities which the Telugu Students’ Association at Delhi University had organized. Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender, who was the chief guest of the event, accompanied him. The festivities were traditional, including a lighting ceremony for the bonfire.

Minister Naidu spoke to the crowd and praised the growth of India under the Prime Minister Narenda Modi leadership emphasizing the role of youth in making the country strong and united. “It is heartening to see students in Delhi celebrating festivals like Sankranti so grandly while keeping in touch with their language and culture,” he stated. The minister particularly mentioned Telugu students for their annual Bathukamma and Sankranti celebrations organizing, thus keeping cultural practices alive even far away from home.

MP Etela Rajender too praised the Telugu community, and pointed out that whether in Delhi, the US, or London, the Telugus are proudly showing their culture and customs. He further stated, “The migration of people from the Telugu states to the cities during Dussehra and Sankranti is indicative of the strong bond our people have with their heritage and traditions.”

The new Warangal airport will be an infrastructure game-changer for the state, especially for air travel and roaming around tourists in the state. The government is successfully moving forward with its plans to improve the air travel infrastructure in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, given that the Bhogapuram airport has already passed the flight test.
