The stock price of Vodafone Idea (Vi) increased for a third day in a row when it reached an intraday peak of ₹11.05 which resulted in a 12.41% increase during the NSE trading session that finished on January 30, 2026. The telecom operator experienced increased buying activity after it disclosed its intention to spend ₹45,000 crore during the next three years for network expansion and business development.
During the Q3 FY26 earnings call, CEO Abhijit Kishore explained the strategy to extend network services across 17 of 22 telecom circles while converting 2G sites in five remaining circles to 5G technology. The company confirmed through Kishore that its current investment followed a previous expenditure of ₹18,000 crore which the company made during the last six quarters to achieve expansion in both urban and rural areas.
Vodafone Idea reported a reduced net loss of ₹5,286 crore for Q3 FY26 because of improvements in customer service operations. The total number of subscribers decreased to 19.29 crore which represented a 3.4% drop but postpaid subscribers increased to 2.88 crore with a 14.2% rise and 4G/5G users grew from 12.6 crore to 12.85 crore. The company achieved a 7.3% YoY increase in average revenue per user (ARPU) which reached ₹186 while its consolidated revenue remained unchanged at ₹11,323 crore.
Vodafone Idea has generated new investor confidence about its capacity to recover from business difficulties through its network development and customer acquisition efforts.
