SBS has shown the first image of its coming fantasy romance drama No Tail To Tell, and at the same time has announced the date of the drama’s premiere. The story of the drama is going to have a new and very interesting take on the classic gumiho legend, and that is going to be the merging of the myth with modern youth culture and a humorous clash of characters.
A No Tail To Tell is a gumiho of Gen Z who is adamant that she never wants to be a human, and a soccer superstar who is too full of himself. Their lives change drastically when they become fate entwined. The series will be full of chaotic adventures, emotional depths and an unlikely friendship based on the principle of saving each other.
The script reading was an event that had in attendance the director Kim Jung Kwon, the writers Park Chan Young and Jo Ah Young, and the cast that comprised Kim Hye Yoon, Lomon, Lee Si Woo, Jang Dong Joo, Choi Seung Yoon, In Gyo Jin, Lee Seung Joon and Hong Soo Hyun who were all very talented and thus the term ‘star-studded’ used is quite appropriate.
Taking on the role of Eun Who is Kim Hye Yoon, a peculiar young gumiho who has really aureate yet naughty charm and is thus, making the character all new for the upcoming generation. Lomon plays Kang Si Yeol, a professional soccer player with an air of casualness about him and a great personality to match who is making his way into the limelight.
Lee Si Woo plays Geum Ho, a character connected to Eun Ho through an intriguing mystery. Jang Dong Joo appears as Hyun Woo Seok, a soccer player whose quiet, grounded life contrasts sharply with Kang Si Yeol’s fame. Choi Seung Yoon adds edge to the story as Lee Yoon, a powerful fourth-generation heir and Eun Ho’s VIP client.
In Gyo Jin portrays Park Yong Gil, a former national youth team coach now managing a fourth-division squad, while Lee Seung Joon plays Hyun San Cheol, a supportive father to Woo Seok. Hong Soo Hyun makes a special appearance as Hong Yeon Soo, Si Yeol’s partner of nine years who insists she is also his agent.
The drama also features the Daeheung Citizen Team’s players: Yoo Hwan as midfielder Seo Beom, Kim Tae Jung as defender Hwang Chi Soo, Ji Seung Joon as wingback Bae Jung Bae, and Kim Tae Hee as goalkeeper Kim Kyung Hoon.
The production team said the series brings “a unique world and refreshing interpretation of gumiho folklore,” adding that the chemistry between Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon will make the wait worthwhile.
