The upcoming superhero K-drama “Cashero” has released new stills, offering a closer look at its quirky characters and their unexpected powers.
Adapted from the popular webtoon, “Cashero” follows Kang Sang-ung (Lee Junho), an ordinary government employee whose life changes when he discovers a bizarre superpower: he becomes physically stronger in proportion to the amount of cash he holds. This unusual ability forces him to literally empty his wallet to save the world.
The latest released images display Sang-ung, his lover Min Suk (Kim Hye Joon), and Korea Superpowered Association members Byeon Ho In (Kim Byung Chul) and Bang Eun Mi (Kim Hyang Gi). Every character comes out with their peculiarities, and emotional intensity, making their flawed but human-like personalities even more visible.
In one scene, Sang-ung is covered in dust, gripping wads of cash as he battles a crowd and lifts rubble during a collapsing-building rescue—hinting at how his accidental power thrusts him into dangerous situations.
Min Suk’s concerned expression reflects the financial chaos that Sang-ung’s powers create. With every use of his strength causing their money to vanish, the couple—once saving diligently for their wedding—must confront a power that drains their future.
Meanwhile, association head Byeon Ho In and member Bang Eun Mi appear urging Sang-ung to join their mission. Their eccentric abilities also shine through: Ho In can pass through walls when drunk, while Eun Mi’s telekinesis intensifies the more she eats. Their comic yet powerful images add texture to the show’s offbeat charm.
“Cashero” will premiere worldwide on December 26 on Netflix, promising an unconventional blend of action, humor, and heartfelt storytelling.
