The beloved Ssangmundong family is back together as tvN and Channel Fullmoon released a nostalgic highlight teaser for the 10th anniversary special of “Reply 1988.” The preview brings fans a wave of warmth as many cast members return to recreate the charm of the iconic 2015 drama.
In the teaser, the actors step back into 1988, reuniting with their on-screen families amid a festive and emotional atmosphere. Despite a decade passing since the show aired, the cast slips effortlessly into their roles, sharing laughter, memories, and friendly competition through classic games.
The video highlights the chemistry of the five Ssangmundong families. Ryu Jun Yeol comes back together with his co-actors Ra Mi Ran and Kim Sung Kyun who played his parents on screen in addition to siblings Ahn Jae Hong and Lee Min Ji. This situation make Kim Sung Kyun tease Ra Mi Ran by saying, “You must have won the lottery again.”
Deok Seon’s family is likewise a source of much lively humor, as the actors Sung Dong Il, Lee Il Hwa, Ryu Hye Young, Hyeri, and Choi Sung Won perform with their characteristic comic timing. Hyeri and Ryu Hye Young are in the spotlight on the dance floor while Sung Dong Il jokingly says, “I told you not to do that,” which only causes more laughter as Lee Il Hwa in joins.
In another part of the set, Yoo Jae Myung and Lee Dong Hwi have fun and playfully tease each other during the games but at the same time, they are looking out for one another. Park Bo Gum and Choi Moo Sung convey emotional depth through their gripping father-son relationship while Ko Kyung Pyo and Kim Sun Young provide a mixture of fun and touching moments.
Recalling the reunion, Yoo Jae Myung says, “Every ten years, it’s just like two or three!” Sung Dong Il adds, “Unforgettable drama. That’s the reason why we are all here again without any change.” Just when the teaser is about to end, it carries the news of a surprise guest, thus increasing the anticipation for the special episode.
