This Week’s Special OTT Releases: Crime Thrillers to Sci-Fi Dramas Set to Entertain

As we bid farewell to December, the OTT platforms are all set to enthrall the audience with an exciting web series lineup that includes crime thrillers, legal dramas, historical sagas, and even sci-fi. The digital crowd is in for a treat with the festivities coming up as the week unwraps the most captivating and varied content.

Idol Eye

Idol Eye is a legal thriller from South Korea, penned by Kim Da-rin, and directed by Lee Kwang-young. Kim Jae-young and Choi So-young star in the project, which features ace defense lawyer Maeng Se-na, who handles a murder case of her most loved client, Do Ra-ik. The intense courtroom drama is now available on Netflix since December 22.

Amadeus

The much-anticipated period thriller Amadeus has also premiered on OTT today. Streaming on JioHotstar, the series explores the intense rivalry and lives of legendary composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri. Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany portray the iconic musicians, with Gabriel Creevey as Constanze Mozart. The cast also includes Rory Kinnear, Lucy Kohu and Jonathan Aris.

Goodbye June

Goodbye June is a Christmas-themed family drama directed by Kate Winslet, with a screenplay by her son Joe Anders. A great Christmas tale with family love and lots of features, the movie casts Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, Helen Mirren, and Kate Winslet. Netflix would make it accessible on December 24.

Stranger Things Season 5

The viewers of Stranger Things can now count down the days for the final season’s continuation. The release of Stranger Things Season 5 – Volume 2 will take place on December 25, the date when Netflix will begin streaming it to its viewers. This sci-fi-mystery TV series by the Duffer Brothers, which has become immensely popular all over the world, is anticipated to give the franchise a horrifyingly attractive ending.

Copenhagen Test

Copenhagen Test is an American sci-fi spy thriller series that is created by Thomas Brandon and produced by James Wan among others for Peacock. The main actors in the show are Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera. The 8-part series will be available for viewing from December 27 together with JioHotstar.
