Women’s Reservation Bill Fails in Lok Sabha; Rahul Gandhi Slams Centre, Credits Opposition Unity

Women’s Reservation Bill Fails in Lok Sabha: Rahul Gandhi Attacks Centre, INDIA Bloc Claims Victory

The Lok Sabha rejected the women’s reservation bill on Friday which led to intense political reactions because Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused the government of trying to damage the Constitution through its efforts to support women’s rights. The opposition.

Gandhi reacted to the bill’s defeat through X (formerly Twitter) by accusing the government of using an “unconstitutional trick” to advance its agenda. He demonstrated how opposition parties worked together when he declared The amendment bill has fallen. They tried to break the Constitution in the name of women. India has seen it. INDIA has stopped it.

The Congress party claimed that the government had improperly associated delimitation with women’s reservation which they deemed a “mischievous and nefarious attempt” that ultimately failed in the House.

Gandhi requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to restore the 2023 women’s reservation law to its original state. The 2023 law should be reintroduced because Prime Minister wants to establish women’s reservation according to him the entire opposition will support it because his party intends to establish 33% female reservation for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

He explained that the amendment proposal did not serve its stated purpose of empowering women because it represented an effort to change India’s electoral system.

Other opposition leaders echoed similar sentiments. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said his party had never opposed women’s reservation but resisted efforts that could “dilute or appropriate women’s rights.”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin reacted strongly to the situation by presenting it as a political victory against the Centre when he declared that “Tamil Nadu defeats Delhi.”

The Centre attempted to withdraw two extra proposals which included one about delimitation after the bill failed because it resulted in a complete legislative defeat.

The bill failed to pass despite Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah supporting it.
