The Telangana state government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress, has announced a 17.651% Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for power sector employees. The proposal, which got the nod from Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhattivikramark, will cater to the needs of 71,387 employees, workers, and pensioners, thus increasing the financial burden on the state to an approximate ₹9.39 crore monthly.
TG TRANSCO: 3,036 employees, 3,769 workers, 2,446 pensioners – total 9,251 beneficiaries.
TG GENCO: 6,913 employees, 3,583 workers, 3,579 pensioners – total 14,075 beneficiaries.
TSPDCL: 11,957 employees, 8,244 workers, 8,552 pensioners – total 28,753 beneficiaries.
TSNPDCL: 9,728 employees, 3,465 workers, 6,115 pensioners – total 19,308 beneficiaries.
Overall, 71,387 power sector personnel will receive the revised DA, significantly improving their monthly earnings while imposing an additional financial responsibility on Telangana’s power companies.
