Putrada Ekadashi Tomorrow: Conch Ritual in Lord Vishnu Worship, Auspicious Time Till 7:53 AM

Devotees perform Putrada Ekadashi rituals with conch worship during the auspicious early morning hours dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

The day after tomorrow, Putrada Ekadashi will turn out to be one of the longest fasting days for the worshippers of Lord Vishnu with the alluring fasting rituals among the worshippers across the whole country. This Ekadashi, which occurs during the Shukla Paksha of the month Pausha, is considered extremely significant for those who want their offspring to be strong, rich, and live a long life.

The scriptures of Hinduism inform that a household which venerates Lord Vishnu on Putrada Ekadashi will receive the blessings of bounty, happiness, and god’s goodwill. The people who observe fasting will not consume any food for a whole day, will perform extra prayers, and will recite Vishnu Sahasranama chanting in order to receive the blessings of the Lord.

A major event of that day is the conch (Shankha) consecration that is done during the Vishnu worship. The conch is one of the most sacred items in the Hindu religion and is thought to purify the place and spread divine energy when used during prayers. The conch gets the holy water during the ceremony, worshipped with flowers, incense, and sandalwood paste, and then blown while Vishnu mantras are chanted. This practice is thought to remove evil forces and accompany good health, peace, and prosperity to the home.

Astrologers have said that the perfect time for Putrada Ekadashi and the ceremonies is until 7:53 in the morning, which indicates that the morning prayers are very important. Followers are to rise during Brahma Muhurta, take a bath, and start worshiping Vishnu within that holy hour.

Those who spend the day doing charitable acts, feeding the less fortunate, and listening to Ekadashi vrat katha assume that trust in God on Putrada Ekadashi not only grants wishes but also ties up the families under the divine protection of Lord Vishnu more closely.
