Dhruv Amin, the 33-year-old Indian-origin entrepreneur, has made headlines for transforming a modest $2 million startup into a $100 million AI-driven company. Amin, along with fellow Stanford graduate and former Google colleague Marcus Lowe, co-founded Anything, an AI “vibe-coding” platform revolutionizing how apps and online businesses are built.
Originally launched as Create, the startup connected businesses with freelance engineers and used AI tools to build websites and apps. The platform was profitable from day one, generating $2 million annually. However, the rapid rise of generative AI technologies, such as ChatGPT, prompted Amin and Lowe to rethink their approach. They realized AI could soon automate much of coding, threatening Create’s marketplace model.
In October 2023, the founders made the bold decision to shut down Create, lay off half of their seven-member team, and end collaborations with freelance developers. “Within two weeks, we were back to an empty office,” Amin recalled.
The duo then launched Anything, an AI-powered platform capable of generating entire app components—forms, calendars, backend systems, and payment solutions—without any coding knowledge. By April 2025, the platform could create fully functional online businesses, and within weeks, it hit a $2 million annualized revenue run rate. The startup’s innovative approach quickly attracted investors, culminating in an $11 million funding round that valued the company at $100 million, according to CNBC Make It.
Amin credits the restart for reinforcing the company’s resilience. “It was the hardest decision of my career, but it proved we could adapt to shifting technology and business models. This company is built to last,” he said.
Background and Career
Dhruv Amin completed his bachelor’s and master’s in Computer Science, as well as an MBA from Stanford University. He previously worked at Google as an Associate Product Manager Intern and at YouTube as a Product Manager. In 2018, he co-founded Create, setting the stage for his current venture.
Amin has drawn interest to himself in the past by revealing his hiring experience, one of which is with Soham Parekh, a problematic engineer from Silicon Valley. His openness regarding the difficulties faced in the areas of talent management and scaling of startups has become a source of motivation for numerous young entrepreneurs.
The Road Ahead
With Anything, Amin and Lowe aim to democratize app and business creation through AI, offering a no-code solution that could redefine entrepreneurship for startups worldwide.
