The Australian capital city is going to present the biggest New Year’s Eve fireworks display in its history, which would probably give about 50,000 people the reason to come to Lake Burley Griffin. Two fabulous displays are arranged — one at 9 PM for families where the fireworks will take the shapes of smiley faces, hearts, and jets, and then a midnight one that will be accompanied by an epic soundtrack. Four official hubs have opened up around the lake to increase the celebration experience — they are Rond Terrace, Wendouree Drive, John Dunmore Lang Place, and Ferry Gate — where people can enjoy the music of local DJs, buy food, and have a great view of the fireworks. Safety has always been a concern, and police presence has been increased to monitor underage drinking, drink-driving, and people behaving badly.
