Popular Web Series Stranger Things Season 5 Finale Crashes Netflix, Fans Outraged

Fans react as Netflix crashes during the global premiere of Stranger Things Season 5 finale.

The conclusion of Season 5, which was highly anticipated by fans all over the world, was made available on Netflix and other streaming platforms, leading to the downtrodden and unsuccessful attempt from Netflix to cater to its new found subscribers in India. The final episode, “The Right Side Up,” which released on January 1, 2026, at 6:30 AM IST in India, has a runtime of 2 hours and 8 minutes, which is also the longest episode of the entire series.

Along with the support of the social media platforms, the fans expressed their frustrations and reported that they had to deal with buffering issues and app crashes. The online monitoring service, Down Detector, indicated that there were several outages in India during the time frame of 6:22 AM to 6:37 AM. The fans were mainly the ones causing the stir on social media and urging Netflix for a quick resolution, a move that many saw as a proof of the series’ popularity.

Among the most gifted performers, the previous season’s cast was composed of names like Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke, not to mention a few. The horror-thriller series is pretty much giving out an inordinate suspense as it is getting nearer to the end, which is not only a cause of the viewers’ excitement but also a cause of their concern over the ending.
