Cricket Australia has publicized its ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 15-member team which is set to be the world’s largest cricketing showdown from February 7 to March 8 in India and Sri Lanka. The announcement of the squad via social media was made with Mitchell Marsh as the skipper.
Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Tim David are the major casualties among the players. As for Cummins, he is suffering from a severe back pain and that is the reason he has been missing the whole Ashes series which is still in progress. He will undergo a less invasive scan at the end of January to find out about his condition. Hazlewood, on the other hand, has had to sit out of the ashes because of his ankle injury and is not allowed to play at all still while David, who is suffering from hamstring injury he got during the Big Bash League, is trying to get back to playing. The injury that he got was very unfortunate as it was the first match for him after a long period of rest. It is George Bailey, the chair of the selection committee, who thinks that there is no doubt whatsoever regarding the fitness and readiness of the three players for the match when the tournament takes place.
