On January 5, Mahindra will showcase the XUV 7XO, which will be a giant step forward in the mid-size SUV segment and will definitely add new competition in the market. The XUV 7XO is, in fact, a refreshed version of the XUV700 and heralds a new era for Mahindra’s SUV family with its attractive looks, a tech-savvy cabin, and well-known engine options. Before its formal appearance, let us give you a detailed insight into the new XUV 7XO’S features and specifications.
1. Bold New Exterior Design
The Mahindra XUV 7XO presents the latest model of the brand’s SUV design language with a more standing up and aggressive posture. At the front, it is equipped with a new grille, modern LED DRLs that are mounted on the bonnet line very high, and new dual-pod LED projector headlamps. LED fog lights and a new bumper design that includes faux skid plates add to its tough looks.
From the side, the SUV is expected to have new 18-inch alloy wheels and keep the flush-fitting door handles that are characteristic of the XUV700. The backside has new LED tail lights that come with new lighting features, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a shark fin antenna, and girthy bumper. Also, Mahindra is rumored to be introducing new paint options, including a red shade that has been previously teased and is inspired by the XEV 9S.
2. Upgraded, Tech-Focused Interior
The interior of the XUV 7XO is supposed to be more luxurious and accomplished than the one in its predecessor. The dashboard is made up of several layers and the screen integration is heavily emphasized. What catches the eye is the layout of three screens, which includes a large touchscreen for infotainment, a digital display for the driver, and an extra screen for vehicle functions on the higher trims.
The SUV has also been provided with a new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel featuring the new Mahindra logo and a better interior trim. Different interior themes depending on the variant are lighter colours that create an illusion of spaciousness in the cabin. One of the important things that Mahindra has done is to keep physical buttons for essential controls such as climate settings so that it is easy to use them while driving.
3. Segment-Leading Features
A major feature of the Mahindra XUV 7XO is its position as one of the highest luxury SUVs in its segment. Some of the outstanding features of the vehicle include, among others, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, fully digital instrument cluster, co-passenger’s entertainment screen, glass roof, power-operated driver’s seat with memory function and multi-colored ambient light.
Moreover, the firm has incorporated a variety of other luxury and comfort amenities such as, for instance, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, and a high-end 16-speaker sound system by Harman Kardon. Besides this, the rear seat passengers are also likely to enjoy the benefit of features such as rear ventilation, wireless charging, and the new Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) setup which has just been introduced.
As far as the safety equipment is concerned, the XUV 7XO will probably come with six airbags fitted as standard (up to seven on higher trims), electronic stability control, hill hold assist, front and rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats. The top variants will be equipped with a 540-degree camera system and an upgraded ADAS package that will have features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and autonomous emergency braking.
4. Familiar Yet Powerful Engine Options
It is anticipated to have the familiar powertrain having a given track record in the available lineup of the Mahindra XUV700 range.
- 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 200 PS and 380 Nm
- 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering up to 185 PS and 450 Nm
It is expected that both motors will come with a choice of 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Besides, the diesel model might still allow customers to select the all-wheel-drive option for certain trims.
5. Expected Price and Rivals
Mahindra has opened the XUV 7XO for bookings, and the first amount for the booking is ₹21,000. The SUV is expected to come with a price tag of around ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom) at the very beginning. The car’s first sale would place it right next to the Tata Safari, Mahindra Scorpio N, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector in terms of market competition.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO comes with a new look, advanced technology in the cabin, and a great list of features, which together make it ready to take a strong position in the already crowded mid-size SUV market.
