Tamil cinema fans may soon see Karthi back on the big screen as Studio Green Films has filed an urgent petition with the Madras High Court seeking permission to release their upcoming movie Vaa Vaathiyar.
The production house is requesting the court to modify its December 2025 order, which currently prohibits the film’s release until ₹21.78 crore is paid. Studio Green’s legal team has argued that relaxing this condition will allow the movie to reach audiences without further delay.
The modification application has been scheduled for hearing today before a Division Bench of Justices S.M. Subramaniam and C. Kumarappan. The court’s verdict could be a determining factor in the movie’s release, which has been called, the next few days.
The film Vaa Vaathiyar, featuring Karthi in a leading role, is now considered the most awaited Tamil film of the year 2026. The teaser indeed has increased the expectancy, and it is already shared by many fans on their social media.
