Google Calendar Gets Gemini AI to Suggest Ideal Meeting Times Automatically

Google introduced a new Gemini-powered feature for Google Calendar which helps users schedule meetings more efficiently by handling the process of meeting organization. Calendar uses its automatic meeting time suggestion function to find optimal times for meetings by checking the availability of all guests who were invited to the meeting.

Users who create new events inside Google Calendar will see “suggested times” which Gemini generates through the Google AI assistant. The system generates time suggestions which match the current schedules of all invitees, enabling organizers to find suitable meeting times without the need to check multiple calendars manually.

The system operates identically to a Gmail scheduling feature which Google introduced in October through AI technology which Google developed for its Gmail product. Google intends to boost productivity and decrease the number of emails sent during meeting coordination by integrating this intelligence into Calendar.

The Gemini-powered meeting time suggestions are currently being rolled out and are available only to users on Google Business, Enterprise, and AI Pro for Education plans. Google has not yet announced when the feature will be expanded to standard consumer accounts, but wider availability is expected as the rollout progresses.
