The Indian government has made an official statement that its Nizam’s precious jewels are kept secure at the Reserve Bank of India. The government needs to implement tight security measures for the jewels because they possess both historical and cultural and heritage significance.
Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat presented the information during his Rajya Sabha appearance to answer inquiries about the jewels’ current condition and their planned future. He added that no decision has yet been made regarding their display to the public in Hyderabad.
The Nizam’s collection of 173 magnificent jewels has remained at the RBI vaults since 1995. Government authorities have complete knowledge about the treasure according to the minister, who confirmed this after Parliament members asked about government knowledge of the treasure.
The Nizams, who governed Hyderabad, created a historical heritage when they merged their territory with India after independence, which continues to attract researchers and the general public.
