The actress Sara Arjun who began her first lead role in the movie Dhurandhar has responded to mounting age-related rumors about her with her personal experiences from the film industry. The actress shared her life story between fame and public scrutiny while she worked toward her lifelong goals during her latest interview.
The things I now understand were beyond my comprehension during my youth. Now that I’ve entered the industry, I realise that along with appreciation, criticism is also inevitable,” Sara said. She added that Dhurandhar answered many questions she had about when and how her transition to lead roles would happen. She stated her heartfelt desire for the situation to occur because the movie explained everything to her. “I thank everyone who gave me their confidence to handle this task,” she said.
Sara entered the acting profession through unexpected circumstances according to her recollection of events. She received her first advertising opportunity after brand representatives discovered her at a shopping mall during a trip with her parents. She worked in multiple commercials until she transitioned to the film industry. One such advertisement was shot by casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who later called her for an audition. “I didn’t even know it was for Dhurandhar. I thought it was a regular audition and forgot about it. A month later, I gave multiple auditions for different scenes. There were very clear discussions about my age before finalising the film,” she revealed.
Memories from Childhood Roles
Sara also reflected on her experiences as a child actor. She acted as actor Vikram’s daughter in a Tamil film at a very young age. “I don’t remember much from that film, but I do remember calling him Vikram Appa,” she said. She worked with actors Emraan Hashmi Salman Khan and Irrfan Khan in her subsequent work. She can recall all the details from Salman Khan’s movie yet she never had the chance to meet him during filming.
Through her work with Aishwarya Rai Sara presented her experiences from the Ponniyin Selvan project. The woman treated me with exceptional kindness while she treated me as if I were her daughter. The sequel meeting made me doubt her memory of me from our first encounter yet she recognized me. The special moment made me feel special because my work as a child artist established permanent relationships with industry people.
Choosing Privacy Amid Fame
In their childhood, emotions are in a pure state–therefore, pain feels like pain, happiness feels like happiness. There are no barriers then. From the beginning, I’ve tried to work without complications,” she said. She shares professional matters mainly with her parents and later with her brother.
“I know that as I grow in this industry, criticism will follow. I did not have knowledge of the existence of it at that time because I only wanted to pursue my planned activities. Please note that my personal life is private and I won’t disclose more details about myself. I keep my eyes on open possibilities while I continue with my current activities. I’ve wanted this for a very long time,” Sara concluded.
