Veteran Bollywood screenwriter Salim Khan, the father of actor Salman Khan, has been placed on a ventilator after a minor brain haemorrhage. Ninety-year-old Salim was admitted this week to the ICU at Lilavati Hospital.
According to physicians, the elderly respected screenwriter underwent minor surgical procedures on Thursday. Currently, Salim’s condition is stable, and the medical team is optimistic (but cautious) about his recovery.
Indeed, the doctors are quite hopeful that the condition will improve.
Dr Jalil Parkar, who is in charge of his treatment, told MediBulletin that his vital parameters were stable. He also said that if everything continues in progress, they would likely remove Salim Khan from ventilation within the next 24 hours.
An Icon That Can Never be Forgotten in Bollywood
In the world of Hindi cinema, Salim Khan is an acknowledged name. In the 1970s, Salim was a Bollywood storytelling dynamite along with Javed Akhtar. Together they invented the infamous “Angry Young Man” persona, which helped Amitabh Bachchan transform into a legendary star predominantly through flicks like Zanjeer, Deewaar, and Sholay.
Fans, colleagues, and every other person from the film industry are showing their support. Industry representatives Subhash Ghai and Anil Sharma have both shared their support and concern for Salim Khan and his relatives.
For the time being, the essential medical update is expected from the hospital as his condition is still dependent on observation.
