OnePlus has officially unveiled OxygenOS 16, its latest custom Android skin based on Android 16, promising a major design overhaul, enhanced customization, and new AI-driven productivity tools. The update will begin rolling out in November 2025, starting with the newly launched OnePlus 13, followed by other eligible models in the coming months.
🌈 Fresh Design and Customization Options
OxygenOS 16 introduces two new design themes — “Breathe With You” and “Thrive with Free Expression.”
While the first focuses on a “see and tell” visual narrative, the second emphasizes personalization and user creativity.
Users can expect major visual updates across the home screen, lock screen, quick settings panel, and app drawer, all enhanced with a new iOS 26–style translucent blur effect for a refined, modern look.
⚙️ Customizable Quick Settings and Home Screen
The Quick Settings panel now supports full customization — allowing users to reorder tiles, expand functions, and access system controls instantly.
Home screen flexibility has been improved with options like:
- 5×7 grid layouts
- Resizable widgets
- Expandable app folders
- Categorized app drawer with automatic sorting
- System-wide icon theming support
🔒 Enhanced Lock Screen and Personalization
The Flux Themes 2.0 update lets users fine-tune their lock screens — adjusting clock size and position, choosing live photos or videos as wallpapers, and adding mini widgets for quick access to information.
🤖 AI-Powered Features and Productivity Tools
OxygenOS 16 brings a strong focus on AI integration under the new OnePlus AI Hub:
- AI Writer – Generates and improves text, creates mind maps, and summarizes content.
- Recorder App – Transcribes audio in real time, summarizes notes, and generates shareable links.
- Camera App – Instantly converts scanned documents and presentations into PDFs.
- AI Search – Lets users perform natural language searches across apps and files.
Additionally, the new Private Computing Cloud enhances privacy by processing sensitive data locally on the device.
🧠 Mind Space and Google Gemini Integration
OnePlus has upgraded its note-taking tool, Mind Space, with Google Gemini AI integration. Users can interact with stored notes, ask context-based questions, and generate summaries — turning personal data into an intelligent knowledge base. This feature will roll out with future stable updates.
💫 Liquid Glass Effect for a Polished Interface
A refined Gaussian blur effect has been added to the home screen search bar, app drawer, recents screen, and Photos app, creating a smooth, “Liquid Glass” aesthetic reminiscent of iOS 26.
📅 Rollout Schedule
OxygenOS 16 will begin rolling out in stages starting November 2025, with the OnePlus 13 as the first recipient. Other eligible devices will follow gradually through early 2026. OnePlus has cautioned that the staged rollout could cause slight regional delays.
