Avatar 3 Box Office: ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Nears ₹9,000 Crore Worldwide; Here’s Its India Collection

A still from Avatar: Fire and Ash showcasing the visually rich new world created by James Cameron.

The eagerly awaited Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third part of the famous Avatar series, directed by James Cameron, is still going strong at the international box office. The film has a lot of support from its advanced visual effects, detailed world-building, and a huge budget, it is slowly but surely on its way to becoming one of the top movies ever by reaching the ₹9,000 crore global sales figure.

A Grand Vision with a Massive Budget

Avatar: Fire and Ash, an impressive epic by director James Cameron, was a joint production between him and Jon Landau where Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, and Oona Chaplin, among others, formed the principal cast. The narrative depicted in this movie is of a tribe that is entirely different in the Avatar universe, thus demanding massive amounts of VFX and graphics work to develop a whole new world.

The movie’s production cost is around $400 million (approx. ₹3,600 crore); hence, it is one of the most expensive films ever made. Russell Carpenter has taken care of the visual aspects, while Simon Franglen has composed the score, and the cutting process has been carried out by a team that includes none other than James Cameron.

The worldwide screening occurred on December 19, and the movie was anticipated to do great in the various markets from the very beginning.

India Box Office Performance

The debut of Avatar 3 in India got an overwhelming good response in the first week. The movie was projected by the trade analysts to have grossed about ₹128 crore in its first week of running at the box office.

  • English version: ~₹47.5 crore
  • Hindi version: ~₹34.9 crore
  • Tamil version: ~₹15 crore
  • Telugu version: ~₹11 crore
  • Kannada version: ~₹18 crore
  • Malayalam version: ~₹11 crore

The second week saw a dip in momentum, with collections estimated at ₹50–60 crore. The English and Hindi versions continued to lead, while South Indian language collections slowed down.

As of its 17-day run, trade sources estimate that Avatar: Fire and Ash has earned approximately ₹190–200 crore net in India across all languages.

Worldwide Collections So Far

On the global front, the film has performed exceptionally well:

  • North America: Over ₹2,200 crore
  • Overseas markets: More than ₹6,000 crore
  • Worldwide total (estimated): ₹8,400–8,600 crore

Trade experts are of the opinion that the film has already achieved a milestone that will soon be among the highest-grossing films of all times with the steady collection in international markets continuing.

What’s Next?

Avatar: Fire and Ash stays on the positive side of premium formats, repeat viewership and powerful overseas demand, all though there was a small decline after the first weeks. Movement permitting, the saga of James Cameron will have the occasion to append another historical box office outcome to the Avatar legacy.
