Raja Bundela, an actor who worked alongside Bachchan, revealed the story of the famous actor who kept a very strict health work-life balance.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Legendary Discipline
During a podcast conversation, Raj Bundela talkd about the amazement of Ranjit Bachchan’s memory and commitment. He mentioned:
“Amitabh Bachchan has been a wonderful co-actor. I shot a picture with him, and he recalled every line so accurately.”
Bundela also explained that Bachchan would personally carry the continuity materials for his films until the next schedule, ensuring no details were left to chance.
How Bachchan Saved a Shoot Overnight
Bundela remembered the shooting case in Goa where by mistake, Bachchan’s continuity shoes were left in Mumbai. When travel by air was very much restricted then, most people believed the shooting would be called off.
But the very next day, Bachchan arrived totally prepared and dressed for work, while others were still hesitant to approach him. He acted cool and calm, reading a newspaper as if there was no problem.
Later, it was disclosed that he had solved the issue in just one night. He dispatched his spotboy to get the shoes by bus and to come back on the first flight the next day.
“He called the director and asked him to start shooting. This was the kind of discipline he had,” Bundela said.
Why the Shoes Were Critical
Bundela explained that the shoes were essential for continuity. In the scene, Bachchan’s character picks up an apple after being hungry for two days. Since the character bends down, the shoes would be visible on screen, and continuity could not be compromised.
Strict Boundaries Between Work and Family
Raja Bundela also spoke about Bachchan’s personal discipline and professionalism.
“He would never gossip, even when we met at his home.”
Bundela added that Bachchan maintains strict boundaries at home:
“From what I have heard, he would not allow anyone from the industry at his home after 8 pm; he locks his doors. He likes to keep that balance between his business and his family.”
