Maintaining Law and Order Crucial to Attract Global Investments: CM Chandrababu Naidu

CM Chandrababu Naidu: Law and Order Key to Attract Global Investments in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday emphasized that maintaining law and order is essential to attract global investments and drive the state’s economic growth. He called on the state police to take a proactive role in ensuring peace, safety, and technological vigilance.

Naidu Highlights Police Role in Development and Investor Confidence

Speaking at the Police Commemoration Day event held at the APSP 6th Battalion Grounds, Mangalagiri, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to police welfare and public safety.

Paying homage to the 192 police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty this year, Naidu said a strong and disciplined police force forms the foundation of investor confidence.

“Only when law and order is maintained can development and investments thrive,” he said, noting that global tech giant Google has committed to establishing its largest AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam, a major milestone for Andhra Pradesh.

Focus on Tackling Tech-Driven Crimes and Political Misuse

Naidu urged police officers to upgrade their technological skills to tackle modern forms of crime.

“Criminals are misusing technology to evolve new methods of crime. Police must stay a step ahead,” he warned.

The Chief Minister praised the efforts of the EAGLE (Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement) force for curbing drug smuggling and the ganja trade.

He also cautioned against individuals “resorting to crimes in the guise of politics” and urged strict action against those spreading fake news or unrest on social media for political gain.

Government Commitment to Police Welfare

Reaffirming his government’s dedication to supporting law enforcement, Naidu shared key welfare statistics:

  • ₹33 crore spent on healthcare for police personnel in the past 16 months
  • ₹23 crore distributed as insurance to 171 deceased officers
  • Recruitment of 6,100 constables completed to strengthen the force
  • Assurance of timely promotions and ongoing departmental improvements

Naidu also contributed to the Flag Fund and visited a photo gallery commemorating fallen officers.

The event was attended by Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, DGP Harishkumar Gupta, and other senior officials.
