IMD Hyderabad Warns of Cold Wave as Telangana Braces for Coldest 48 Hours

Foggy and chilly conditions grip Telangana as IMD Hyderabad warns of the coldest 48 hours with temperatures dipping across districts.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad has raised a red flag as Telangana is about to go through the coldest period of the year within the next two days. The cold wave is declared for 19th & 20th December with considerable decrease in temperature in many districts.

IMD has issued yellow alert for some regions of the state on account of the ongoing situation and is advising the inhabitants to be ready for extremely cold weather particularly in the night and dawn hours.

The Telangana Weatherman, who is a famous weather forecaster has supported the prediction by saying on the X social media platform that the next 48 hours are going to be the coldest of winter till now. He suggested that the temperature could plummet quickly over the coming two nights and mornings.

According to IMD no mist and fog conditions will prevail over Hyderabad till Tuesday, December 23. Fog and mist will be most prominent during late night and early morning hours and will cause low visibility.

There are some regions in the state where the temperature has already dropped to single digits. The mercury dipped to as low as 6.1 degrees Celsius in Sangareddy district while Maredpally in Hyderabad was the coldest area with a temperature of 11.1 degrees Celsius.

IMD Hyderabad has predicted cold wave scenario and has suggested residents to be very careful while travelling and also take the necessary precautions.
