GHMC Trains Newly Recruited Engineers to Lead Clean City Mission

GHMC officials and newly appointed engineers attend a sanitation orientation programme at the GHMC head office in Hyderabad.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) conducted an orientation session for Deputy Executive Engineers (DEEs) and Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) who handle solid waste management under their contractual duties. The program was conducted as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban (2.0) and took place at the GHMC head office. The session provided new officers with complete knowledge of the Solid Waste Management Rules 2024 which included their latest updates and operational procedures.

The officials presented their findings on the difficulties encountered when applying waste management regulations during fieldwork which included assessing waste segregation practices and waste collection methods and waste processing techniques and waste disposal operations. The session established better relationships between engineering staff and sanitation workers and contractors and local communities to accomplish their cleanliness work.

The program was led by Additional Commissioner Raghu Prasad who emphasized the need for all sanitation systems in Hyderabad to receive better maintenance. The newly appointed engineers should develop their work habits into two specific ways which include taking responsibility for their work and helping the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (2.0) goals.

Senior GHMC officials demonstrated how waste management operations require both innovation and monitoring together with technological solutions to achieve better operational performance and customer service results. The orientation serves as a component of GHMC’s extensive mission which aims to develop institutional strength while preparing the city to handle increasing urban sanitation demands.

The initiative demonstrates GHMC’s dedication to keeping Hyderabad clean while protecting public health and environmental sustainability through its engineering staff training programs which teach proper solid waste management techniques.
