HYDRAA Clears 1-km Illegal Compound Wall, Restores Public Road in Medipally

HYDRAA officials remove an illegally constructed compound wall at Kachavani Singaram in Medipally, restoring the public road to its full width.

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) demolished a one-kilometre-long illegally built compound wall at Kachavani Singaram which blocked a public road in Medipally mandal of Medchal–Malkajgiri district. The road had been blocked by an illegally built structure which decreased its width from 40 feet to 27 feet. A person who claimed ownership of the land built a wall which started a conflict that lasted between him and nearby residents.

The Divyanagar Singarenians Welfare Society filed a complaint which led to HYDRAA officials and other departments conducting a combined field investigation. The inspection confirmed that the road was officially marked as a 40-feet-wide public road in the approved Divyanagar Phase-5 layout.

Officials discovered that Malipeddi Hanumanth Reddy who owns agricultural land adjacent to the layout had constructed a wall which blocked public access to the road thus creating access problems for residents of more than 1,000 plots for over a decade.

The authorities ordered the illegal structure to be removed after the problem had been reported during HYDRAA Prajavani. With the demolition completed, the road connecting Narapally, Divyanagar and Kachavani Singaram villages has been fully restored and reopened for public use.
