More than 55 major Indian companies, including Infosys, Wipro, Nestle India, and Jio Financial Services, will release their Q2 FY2025-26 results today, October 16. The earnings announcements are expected to set the tone for the markets and provide key insights into India Inc’s financial performance amid an improving macroeconomic outlook.

Infosys, Wipro, Nestle India Q2 Results Today

September quarter of 2023 (Q2 FY2025-26) is a significant earnings season for the IT, FMCG, and financial sectors. Today, along with the top players, Eternal, LTIMindtree, Waaree Energies, and Metro Brands will also release their financial statements.

This week, over 200 companies are estimated to report results, which is a sign of the corporate India health amid a worldwide unstable environment.

Market Expectations and Sector Trends

According to brokerage firm Elara Capital, Q2 FY2025-26 is expected to kick off an earnings upcycle with a projected 12.5% year-on-year growth in profit after tax (PAT). Sectors such as cement, real estate, metals, energy, and discretionary consumption are likely to lead the growth.

Analysts attribute this optimism to:

  • Margin expansion across sectors
  • Easing input costs
  • Supportive monetary policy stance

Recent Highlights

On Wednesday, Axis Bank made a disclosure about its net profit for the September quarter, which was 26% lower than last year, and amounted to ₹5,090 crore instead of ₹6,918 crore. The decline was largely attributed to the bank’s increased provisioning for bad loans.

At the same time, international markets became bullish when Wall Street went up significantly, supported by the hefty profits of financial titans such as Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, which raised the mood for the forthcoming earnings announcements.
