Kalyani Priyadarshan to Make Bollywood Debut Opposite Ranveer Singh in ‘Pralay’? Here’s What We Know

Kalyani Priyadarshan and Ranveer Singh to star in Bollywood thriller Pralay, combining action, dystopia, and zombie-apocalypse elements.

Kalyani Priyadarshan has reportedly been waiting for the right moment to finally make her way into Bollywood alongside Ranveer Singh in the new film Pralay. The project, which is a first for co-founder Ranveer at his own production house Maa Kasam Films, is a zombie-apocalypse thriller, and it is also marking Ranveer’s first co-production venture.

Alia Bhatt had been associated with the project as the female lead in Ranveer’s third partnership after Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. However, the reports say that Kalyani Priyadarshan has received the role of the female lead and the son of Hansal Mehta, director Jai Mehta will be the one to make his solo directorial debut. The pre-production is planned to start in April and the shooting will be conducted in July and August.

The storyline of Pralay remains a secret but it is said that it would show Mumbai under the sci-fi zombie apocalypse. The movie might also use AI-assisted sets in order to build a visually stunning, dystopian world with decay, deserted places, and gloomy atmosphere.

In 2025, Kalyani Priyadarshan became a pan-Indian sensation with Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra where she essayed the role of India’s first female superhero whose performance was praised a lot. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh continuously gets the credit for Dhurandhar and he is also working on its sequel which is set to be released on March 19.

If the reports are true, Pralay will not only bring a new jodi on screen but also venture into a new territory of Indian cinema with the ups and downs that come along with it, thus promising a different yet captivating experience for the viewers.
