The third and fourth episodes of “Positively Yours” show increased sweetness through Kang Du Jun’s silent and visible affection for Jang Hui Won. The episodes display multiple scene-stealing moments which include both clueless romantic gestures and authentic emotional assistance that make viewers smile.
Spoiler Alert Ahead
1. Kang Du Jun and His Not-So-Secret Crush
The evolving dynamic between the leads remains at the heart of the story. Jang Hui Won, shaped by her parents’ unhappy marriage, keeps her emotional distance and firmly rejects the idea of love — especially a contract marriage. Kang Du Jun who initially thought he had no interest in marriage developed strong feelings for Hui Won.
Du Jun feels personally rejected after his spontaneous marriage proposal fails because he does not understand that Hui Won needs time to heal from her emotional wounds. The actual reasons for his distress become clear through his confusion because he wants to be with her yet his disappointment reveals his real emotional state.
2. A Caretaker Disguised as a Colleague
Du Jun shows his dedication to caring for Hui Won throughout episode three because she does not show him any signs of romantic interest. He silently helps her during her work-induced sleepless nights by bringing her tea and covering her with a sweater.
The gesture becomes exceptional through its underlying concept. Du Jun selects tea for her because he knows she is pregnant which demonstrates his understanding of her needs and his emotional development. The little scene demonstrates his natural tendency to provide assistance.
3. Hearing the Baby’s First Heartbeat
The first scene which produces strong emotional impact occurs when Hui Won suffers from unexpected stomach pain. Du Jun immediately takes her to the hospital and registers himself as her legal guardian while remaining with her throughout the process. The first heartbeat of the baby marks a moment which combines soft sounds with deep emotional intensity.
The scene becomes more powerful when it shows how different moments later on display partners who neglect their pregnant partners. Du Jun’s devotion — despite having no official relationship with Hui Won — feels genuine and earned, especially given his long-standing role as a devoted uncle who raised his niece like his own child.
4. Hwang Mi Ran Stepping Into “Best Aunt” Mode
Hwang Mi Ran (Kim Da Som) who plays Hui Won’s best friend provides continuous love and assistance to Hui Won. Mi Ran shows pure happiness after Hui Won reveals to her that she will keep the baby because she immediately begins to create loving names for the child.
The baby isn’t born yet but people already show excessive love for the child. Mi Ran displays enthusiasm which creates an emotional safety net that Hui Won needs to survive so she becomes an immediate favorite among fans.
The third and fourth episodes demonstrate that Kang Du Jun will become a devoted father through his strong dedication to his child. Hui Won continues to have doubts about him because she thinks he cares for the child only because of his obligation as a father and not because he has real feelings for her. The fourth episode reaches its conclusion when Du Jun removes all his doubts through an authentic confession.
The story enters its next stage after characters have revealed their inner feelings. The question remains: can Du Jun break through Hui Won’s emotional walls, or will her painful past derail their fragile, growing romance?
